Private Transfers – Suvarnabhumi Airport to Koh Chang
Private transfer by car or minibus is a comfortable, stress-free way of making the trip from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Koh Chang, with a range of vehicles available to suit your needs. The transfers are door to door, driving on and off the ferries.
Passengers are met at Door 3 Level 2 by the driver with a name sign. It is best to allow 45 minutes to an hour from landing for Immigration and baggage reclaim.
Domestic arrivals of course do not need the Immigration so you get through into the Arrivals Hall much quicker.
How Long Does It Take?
With its location on the east side of Bangkok, Suvarnabhumi Airport (airport code BKK) is ideally situated for quick access onto the highway to the Koh Chang islands.
It’s an undemanding 4 to 4.5 hours t the Koh Chang Piers. This includes a couple of service stops along the way to stretch your legs.
The ferry crossing itself takes 30 to 40 minutes – we use the fast ferry. The time for final delivery to your resort door is dependent on its location. As a guide, White Sand Beach is just over 10 minutes away from the arrival pier at Ao Sapparot, Kai Bae Beach 20 to 25 minutes, Lonely Beach 30 minutes and Bang Bao Beach 45 minutes or more.
Cut-off Times for Leaving Suvarnabhumi
The final fast ferry, Ferry Koh Chang from Ao Thammachat Pier to Ao Sapparot Pier leaves at 19.00 daily. The last slow ferry, Centerpoint Ferry shuttling between the two Centerpoint Piers, leaves at 19.30. To make the ferry connections, we normally set 14.00 as the deadline for leaving the Airport, Immigration and baggage completed.
Timings for Koh Kood
If travelling to Laem Sok Pier for Koh Kood, a private transfer leaving Suavarnabhumi Airport at 09.30 at the latest is the only way to make the final boat connection of the day at 15.00, Koh Kut Express 600bt.
Timings for Koh Mak
You must leave the Airport by 10.30 if heading to Laem Ngop Pier for Koh Mak. This will make the last boats at either 15.00 Suansuk or M Marine or 16.00 Panan, both 450bt.
Late Arrivals and Night Arrivals
If your flight lands too late to make the connection, we can supply a private transfer to Laem Ngop Pier. From there, you make the crossing to Koh Chang in a privately chartered out-of-hours wooden passenger boat. Once on the island, a new private vehicle takes you from the arrival pier to your resort. Contact us for more details.
For arrivals in early hours of the morning, we also provide transfers through the night. You can then get on the first fast ferry to Koh Chang at 06.30, with the chance for breakfast at your resort.
For 2/3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children, we use Innova, Xpander or Fortuner cars. For 4 pax of more, we use a private minibus.
Child seats are available including a rear facing Aprica style for infants. We can use 2 child seats in the larger cars, with an additional 200bt charged. If using a minibus, baby seats will be forward facing due to them having lap seatbelts not 3 point.

Flights from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Trat Airport
Bangkok Airways flies from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Trat Airport (TDX), with 4 flights daily in each direction. Departures at Suvarnabhumi Airport is on Floor 4. For domestic flights, you need to be there 90 minutes before flight time.
Trat Airport has CIQ (Customs, Immigration and Quarantine) status. If your original flight is with a Bangkok Airways partner airline, you can check your baggage all the way through from your original take-off Airport provided both flights are booked together. This means you do not need to pass through Immigration on landing but can proceed straight to Departures for your Trat flight. Confirm this when you make your booking.
If you booked the Trat flight separately to your main flight, you will need to pass though Immigration and baggage reclaim on Floor 2 before heading to Floor 4 Departures.
Connections to/from Boats
Trat Airport is 20 to 30 minutes from the Koh Chang Piers at Ao Thammachat and Centrepoint and Laem Ngop Pier for Koh Mak, an hour from Laem Sok Pier for Koh Kood.
All four daily flights will always make the ferry crossings for Koh Chang.
The morning PG301 and mid morning flights PG305 will make the connections to Koh Mak and Koh Kood.
For Koh Mak and Koh Kood, neither the afternoon flight, PG309 or the evening flight, PG307 will make the last boats at 16.00 (Koh Mak) or 15.00 (Koh Kood).
Below are the return flights from Koh Chang back to Suvarnabhumi Airport. Using either a private transfer or a share minibus (currently not in service), you will always be able to connect to the PG302 1st flight of the day.
If coming from Koh Mak, it is just possible to make the first flight by using the Leelawadee speedboat at 08.00.
You cannot make the PG302 connection if coming from Koh Kood.
From Trat Airport to Koh Chang
To get from Koh Chang to Trat Airport, you will need either a private transfer or a share minibus.
Private transfers from Trat Airport to Koh Chang, door to door, are from 1,800bt each way for a car for 2 persons with ferry tickets. Share minibuses are 550bt per person with ferry ticket and delivery to your resort, 990bt round trip. Do contact us to book either of these services for you.

Buses and Share Minibuses – Suvarnabhumi Airport to Koh Chang
Suvarnabhumi Burapa Company
From Floor 1 Door 8 Suvarnabhumi Burapa Company operates a bus/microbus or share minibus service which runs from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Koh Chang.
Their times of departure are at 7.50 (bus), 09.30 (minibus or microbus), 11.00 (minibus or microbus) or 14.00 (minibus or microbus). The 09.30 does not always run and the service may also swap the bus for a minibus if numbers are low.
The price is 600bt, including the ferry at Ao Thammachat. It takes 5 to 5.5 hours to reach the pier. Allow another 90 minutes for the crossing and delivery to your resort. A round trip ticket is 900bt, but you do need to pay an additional 100bt to 150bt for the taxi from your resort to the departure depot in Klong Son.
Times for the return service from Koh Chang back to Suavarnabhumi Airport are 07.00 (minibus or microbus), 12.00 (bus) and 17.00 (minibus or microbus). You can also book these tickets once on the island.
How do I book Suvarnabhumi Bupara Company?
The best advice with this service from Suavarnabhumi Airport to Koh Chang is to just turn up and buy tickets for the first one leaving – they should have seats. It is not really possible to book as delays on flights and Immigration can mean you miss the departure time, with the seats non transferable.

Our hotel to hotel hoppa share minibus service can also collect you from oustide Door 7 Level 2 Arrivals at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Collection is between 10.00 and 10.30 as the share minibus makes its way out from its morning pick-ups in Bangkok. Cost is 850bt per person with ferry ticket to the door of your resort.
If booking a round trip, the return leg is reduced to 800bt with ferry ticket. Times for collection from your Koh Chang resort are between 08.00 (Bang Bao) to 09.00 (White Sand Beach) or 13.00 to 14.00. You reach Suvarnambhumi around 16.30 or 20.30 respectively.
Please note the deposit taken is non-refundable in the case of delayed flights or slow Immigration.
Departing from Ekamai Bus Station in the east of the city at 07.45 and 09.00, the 999 Bus reaches Suvarnabhumi Airport Transportation Centre (Bus Station) at 08.20 and 09.35. Price is 242bt per person to to the ferry piers for Koh Chang, takes 5.5 to 6 hours with a stop for fuel and calls in at Chantaburi Bus Station on the way.
You can get across to the Transportation Centre from the Airport Terminal using the free shuttle bus (A), which leaves every ten minutes from the 3rd traffic lane over from Door 3 Floor 1.
The 08.20 will arrive at about 13.30 to Centerpoint Pier. For Koh Mak and Koh Wai, you then hop in a taxi at 50bt per person to Laem Ngop Pier. You will probably miss the 14.00 Leelawadee speedboat to Koh Mak, but there is another one at 14.30 Seatales or 15.00 Suansuk and M Marine.
The 09.35 arrives at 15.00 at Ao Thammachat and and then continues onto Centerpoint. For Koh Mak, you catch a songthaew taxi from Centerpoint, 50bt per person. It is cutting it fine for the 16.00 Panan.
Connections for the Return
Coming back the other way, there is a 14.30 or 16.00 service only from Centrepoint Pier, so you need to be on the 12.30 or 13.30 ferry from Koh Chang for the former and 14.30 or 15.30 for the latter.
From Koh Mak, for the 14.30, take either 12.30 Seatales or at a push, the 13.30 Panan. For the 16.30, use that Panan boat.
With an ultimate destination of Ekamai Bus Station, the 999 reaches the Airport Bus Station at 19.30 or 22.30.
