Ao Takian, a lovely wild stretch of beach on the south west coast of Koh Kood, now has just one resort down on the sand itself – the 4 star Cham’s House. Next door, the old style bungalows of Pa Hin Sai have been abandoned, an economic victim of the pandemic.
Cham’s House has accommodation either in rooms in the three storey hotel block at the rear, prices between 2,700bt and 3,500bt or in villas dotted around the garden, 4,500bt upwards.
Back up at the main road, a few popular backpacker operations are also available – the excellent Eve House, the reggae inspired Wooden House next door and the small, friendly Kuba . Simple fan rooms with cold shower start from 500bt. Rueng Aroeng has shut down.
