There are various cheap options of getting to Koh Kood by direct bus, public bus and microbus from Bangkok .

Direct Buses to and from Laem Sok Pier (Koh Kood)
The Koh Kood boat companies Boonsiri, Seudamgo and Koh Kut Express all offer a combined bus (or minibus) and boat ticket service between Bangkok and Koh Kood via Laem Sok Pier.
Bangkok to Laem Sok Pier
Boonsiri
Boonsiri’s bus service runs at 05.00 (Khao San Road), 05.20 (Bangchak Rama 9) for the 10.45 boat arriving at 11.45 and at 09.00 (Khao San Road) for the 15.45 boat arriving at 16.45. The price is 1,100bt for the bus and boat ticket combined which includes a small packed lunch and a drink. Children aged 4 years and under are 500bt, 5 and over adult price.
They also have a service from DMK Airport at 08.00 for the 15.45 boat, 1,350bt per person and one at 09.00 for the 15.45 boat from BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Seudamgo
Seudamgo’ s bus/minibus leaves at 05.00 from Bangkok (Khao San Road), collecting from Rama 9 at 05.30 and BKK Suvarnabhumi at 06.00 before making the 12.00 boat from Laem Sok for Koh Kood at 13.00.
There is also a second service at 07.00 (with the same Bangkok extra stops) for the 15.20 boat, arriving on Koh Kood at 16.20.
They also offer a bus from BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport at 05.00 for their 10.40 boat, same price – not running 1/6/26 to 30/9/26.
It’s 1,150bt per person, children aged 4 years and under are free if not using a seat, 5 and over adult price. If two children under 5, the 2nd is charged at regular price.
Koh Kut Express
Koh Kut Express‘ service is at 05.00 from Khao San (calling at BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport at 06.00) connecting to the mini catamaran at 11.45 (via Koh Mak except 1/6/26 to 30/9/26) for 12.45 arrival on the island.
The 2nd daily service is at 07.30 (BKK 08.30) to take the large, slower express boat at 14.00, so arrival at 15.20 to 15.30 at Koh Kood. Both are 1,100bt per person, kids 5 and over full price.
Note this may reduce down to 07.00 only from 1/6/26 to 30/9/26.
Transfer on Koh Kood (and Koh Mak)
Once on Koh Kood, all boat companies provide a free share shuttle taxi from the arrival pier at Ao Salad Pier for the Boonsiri, Seudamgo and 14.00 Koh Kut Express services or Klong Mad Pier for Koh Kut Express’s 11.45 mini catamaran.
On Koh Mak, you ask your resort to collect you from Ao Nid Pier or you take a 50bt per person taxi.
Laem Sok Pier to Bangkok
Boonsiri
Boonsiri‘s return service uses the 09.00 boat, connecting to its 10.30 bus or the 13.00 boat (moving to 14.30 from 1/10/26 to 31/5/27) for the 14.00 (15.30) bus. Arrival in the Khao San area is at at 17.30 or 20.30 (21.45) – timings are approximate as it depends on traffic.
This return service can drop you at BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport – 16.30, 19.30 (20.45 from 1/10/26).
Seudamgo
Seudamgo’s return service has buses from each of its boats at 08.40, 12.30 and from 1/10/26, the 13.50. All times call at BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport too (17.00, 19.00 and 20.30).
Koh Kut Express
Koh Kut Express’ service back to Bangkok is with either the 09.00 mini catamaran (via Koh Mak except 1/6/26 to 30/9/26) for a bus at 10.00 or the 11.00 slower express boat for a bus around 12.30. Arrival times in Bangkok are from 16.00 or 19.00+. Both times call at BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport too.
Note this may reduce down to the 11.00 boat and bus from 1/6/26 to 30/9/26.
Transfer on Koh Kood (and Koh Mak)
On Koh Kood, all boat companies again provide a free share shuttle taxi from your resort to the departure pier – Ao Salad Pier for the Boonsiri, Seudamgo and 11.00 Koh Kut Express services or Klong Mad for Koh Kut Express’s 09.00 mini catamaran.
On Koh Mak, you ask your resort to drop you at Ao Nid Pier about 20 minutes before the departure time of your service.

Public Services from Bangkok to Trat
From Bangkok, the public buses and microbuses do not go directly to Laem Sok Pier. Instead, they head for Trat, the nearest provinical town, some 25 kilometres away.
Trat Bus Station is about 3km out of town, with songthaew taxis costing 30bt per person to take you into the centre. It is not walkable from the guesthouse area or city centre.
Public Bus
Departing daily from Bangkok to Trat, a/c buses leave from either Ekamai, the eastern bus terminal or Morchit, the northern bus terminal.
From Ekamai
Buses from Ekamai are every couple of hours. You can reach the bus station by getting out at the BTS (skytrain) station of the same name.
If you take the night bus (currently every day) or the early morning buses at 05.00 and 07.00, you should make the connections to the transport which waits at the Trat Bus Station. Leave much later and you will be likely staying a night. There are also two options specifically at 05.00 and 07.00 which head to Laem Sok Pier for a Koh Kood connection.
From Morchit
From Morchit Bus Station, there are two daily buses as below, but you will not make it on time for a boat connection.
Morchit Bus Terminal is not the same as Morchit BTS Station. If you do not go direct to the bus station by taxi, you need to take a 15 to 20 minute taxi ride from Morchit BTS or Chatuchak Station on the MRT (metro). Head down to the highway using Exit 3.
Taxis Between Trat to Laem Sok Pier
From Trat to the pier, you pay around 90bt per person if the songthaew is full but expect to pay more when travelling with less people.
If you do stay in Trat, the share shuttle taxi is easily organised the next morning by your guesthouse, just tell them on arrival what you require.
The same taxi service runs in reverse to Trat for your journey back.
Bangkok to Trat Timetables – Public Bus

Public Microbus
There is also a microbus service to Trat from Ekamai Bus Station – Kohchang Bangkok Transport
This starts from 05.00, with times then at 07.00, 08.30, 09.30, 11.00 and12.30, 14.00, 15.30, 17.00, 18.30 . It takes 5 hours and costs 290bt.
You need the earliest service to make the boat connections at Laem Sok Pier. The songthaew from Trat Bus Station adds another 45 minutes at least.
An hourly return service runs from Trat Bus Station starts at 04.30 up to 18.30.
An similar service runs from Morchit New Van Terminal (Minibus Station Chatuchak) to Trat Bus Station. This terminal is opposite the main bus station, use the cross-over to get over the bus road. For eastern Thailand, you need Building C, for Trat Line 9908 .
Times are again very frequent at 05.00, 6.30, 08.00, 09.30, 11.00, 12.30, 14.00, 15.30, 17.00 and 18.30. As above, use the 05.00 to make the boat connections after the share taxi from Trat to Laem Sok.
Times back from Trat Bus Station are very similar but starting at 04.00 and ending at 18.00.
