Up on the remote north west coast of Koh Kood in the areas known locally as Klong Yai Kee and Klong Rahan, you’ll find some excellent and very secluded resorts.
The exquisite Captain Hook Resort, accessible only by boat, sits on a secluded cape, with rooms starting at 6,500bt but going up to 9,000bt for the mini-pool villas and 15,000bt for the pool suite (more if on a weekend). The resort sits opposite the tiny white sand Palm Beach, with another equally beautiful one just around the corner.
Shortly after the Klong Yai Kee waterfall, Bann Makok the Getaway, is hidden away deep in the mangroves, 8 rooms only, all in the 2,500bt to 3,500bt range, blissfully peaceful. **Closed from June 25 till January 27 for renovations.**
Klong Rahan
Continuing further north, you reach the wonderful beach at Klong Rahan. Known pre-development as Secret Beach, it’s a wonderful sweep of white sands and shallow seas overlooking the tiny island of Kohh Raet (home to local snorkeling sites).
The stylish boutique resort, Moana is first up at the southern end, offering seafront villas, swimming pool and an equally cool restaurant/bar MuEi. Prices are from 7,600bt for garden view, 8,900bt for standard, 12,000bt to 13,000bt for deluxe seaview and 22,500bt to 25,000bt for their quadruples (two adjoining villas split by a private pool).
Next along, the 2/3 star Seacret boats a huge pool, with its bungalows in neat rows alongside – 2,900bt for standard, 4,300bt for garden view, 5,500bt for the deluxe queen or 7,200bt for deluxe seaview.
Finally, Survival by Seudam – yes, the boat company – takes glamping to new levels with around 25 teepee style a/c tents, shared bathroom and restaurant. Assume in peak from 4,900bt a night (singles and doubles) or 5,900bt for family (2 singles, 1 double).
Far End
At the very far end of the area and indeed the road, the luxurious and very private Soneva Kiri, which straddles the hill and the coast for the next few bays along, changed hands in July 2025. Now known as Kiri Private Reserve, it is closed until Q4 2026 for renovations.
Prices given are for peak season (but not the Xmas/New Year period) via booking sites, not the hotel websites. They are intended as guides only.
