Ao Talong Resorts
The coastal area known as Ao Talong has sprung to life in the last couple of years with the opening of two new resorts – The Mak and Little Moon Villa – which sit side by side on a previously undiscovered stretch of beach.
Pitched at the top end of the luxury market, The Mak offers a wide range of very stylish villas connected by walkways, all overlooked by a terrific swimming pool. Rooms start from 4,950bt for the deluxe double all the way up to 13,500bt for the family suite.
Much smaller but also very hip is the boutique Little Moon Villa, (formerly over on the east coast resort at what is now known as Villa Allure). Like The Mak, Little Moon Villa‘s spacious and stylish villas run down the stepped hillside to the sea, rates from 5,700bt to 6,600bt.

Next door to The Mak, modern boutique resort laid out on three levels, with a/c ensuite rooms in a combination of whitewash and wood, seaview terraces, tall ornamental grasses and a vast lawn area. In-house restaurant down by the sea, cafe. Kayaking, motorbike hire, WiFi. Recommended.
Ao Taan Resorts and Bungalows
Popular with Thai packages, Cinnamon Resort in Ao Taan, has a vast array of different styled accommodations, starting from 1,800bt for its seaview rooms and going up to 11,900bt for the pool hut villas.
Also in Ao Taan, Green View Resort stands as the sole traveller option along among the north coast resorts, offering fan rooms from 750bt up to family rooms for 3,500bt – minimum stay in high season.
In our opinion, these north coast resorts would tend to suit couples, though perhaps Cinnamon might work for families given its pool. We would certainly advise renting a motorbike to enable you to visit the rest of the island.
