Private Transfer – Car or Minibus – Koh Mak

Private transfer by car or minibus is the most convenient and safest way to get to and from Laem Ngop (Krom Luang) Pier or Laem Sok Pier for Koh Mak.

Please do read on for a full breakdown of our services, you can jump straight to the relevant section in our FAQs list immediately below. And to cut to the quick, prices are here.

FAQs

Where can you collect from?

It’s a door to pier service, so we can collect you direct from your hotel or condo in Bangkok or Pattaya. If you are flying into any of the major airports – Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), Don Mueang Airport (DMK), U-Tapao Airport (UTP) or indeed Trat Airport (TDX) – we can meet you there too.

We can also pick you up from Ban Phe Pier (Koh Samet) or any of those Thailand east coast beach areas.

We specialise too in private transfers from Cambodia or the Cambodian borders. With an early start from Siem Reap, you can be on Koh Mak the same day. Please note that due to the 25/26 conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, the borders remain closed as of June 26, so this service is not currently available.

Of course, all transfers are also available in reverse.

Our drivers meets you at Suvarnabhumi Airport at Level 2 Arrivals, Door 3. All other meetings places are specified clearly in advance.

How long does the private transfer take?

From hotels in central Bangkok, transfer time is between 4.5 and 5.5 hours to either Laem Ngop Pier or Laem Sok Pier, with a couple of stops along the way.

The first daily speedboat from Laem Ngop Pier is at the 10.30 (currently suspended), followed by 11.30, 12.30 (not running 1/6/26 to 30/9/26), 14.00 (currently suspended) and the last one at 16.00.

The first daily boat from Laem Sok Pier is at the 10.00 speedboat (not running 1/6/26 to 30/9/26), followed by the 10.30 catamaran (11.00 from 1/6/26 to 30/9/26), the 11.45 mini catamaran (not running via Koh Mak from 1/6/26 to 30/9/26), the 14.30 mini catamaran (not running via Koh Mak from 1/6/26 to 30/9/26), the 15.00 catamaran (not running from 1/6/26 to 30/9/26) and the 16.00 mini catamaran (not running via Koh Mak from 1/6/26 to 30/9/26).

Please note you must be at the Laem Sok boat offices at least 30 minutes before departure. At Laem Ngop, it is a little more relaxed.

What vehicles do you use?

We only use SUV style cars such as Fortuner, Mu-X and Pajero. For the private minibus, we normally use Toyota Commuters. All vehicles have seat belts.

We recommend 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children for the larger SUV style car. 4 to 7/8 persons is good for the minibus.

Do you have child seats?

Yes, we can supply a child seat, booster cushion or infant seat (Aprica, reversible) charged at 200bt per item.

If you require 2 seats, the SUV is fine but a little cramped – remember one of the parents is not driving as at home, so must sit with the seats on the 2nd row. Using a minibus for 2 child seats gives you much more room.

You are also welcome to bring your own child seat – just let us know in advance.

What’s included in the price?

Prices cover all diesel and tollways needed. The cost of the boat tickets to or from either Laem Ngop or Laem Sok Piers is not included. We do normally organise them for you as part of the package.

How do I pay?

You pay for your private transfers with an initial deposit via Thai bank to Thai bank transfer, Wise (nor fees), Revolut (no fees) or a Thai PayPal invoice (with processing charges, 6%, go to them, not us). No need for a PayPal account to pay that invoice, it can be done with any card.

The balances due are then paid in THB cash only on the day of travel.

We do also sometimes work on trust, with you paying direct to the driver in THB cash on the day. If booking a return and paying cash, we would take a deposit for the 2nd leg on the 1st day of travel.

How do I book a private transfer to Koh Mak?

Once we have agreed the details and price, we confirm availability and then email you the final arrangements and meeting points as required.

You should receive a reply within 24 hours but do check your email spam folder, in case our reply gets shunted.

Koh Mak is popular and in peak season, busy, so please do plan ahead and book in advance. We can handle last minute requests, but to avoid disappointment, try and give us plenty of warning – the more time the better.

Cambodia – Private Transfers to and from Laem Ngop Pier

Please note that due to the 25/26 conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, the borders remain closed as of June 26, so this service is not currently available.

For Cambodia, we can provide a private transfer between Laem Ngop or Laem Sok Pier and the borders – Aranya Prathet, Had Lek and Ban Pakkad. Prices are below.

We also offer a door to door transfer by private car or private minibus to and from your hotel in Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, Phnom Penh and Battambang. There is always a change of vehicle at the border.

We normally only book transfers into Cambodia if you have an evisa, very easy to order from the official Cambodian government site.

Going to Siem Reap

Our price given below includes any fees to the Tourist Police and Parking Association, which must be paid to allow for your collection. Our Cambodian driver waits very near the Immigration exit with a name sign.

Coming from Siem Reap

You need at least a 07.00 or 07.30 start from Siem Reap to make the boat at 16.00 to Koh Mak. We always say the earlier departure the better. Be prepared for a wait and queue to clear Thai Immigration – perhaps up to an hour, much longer on public holidays.

Payment

This international transfer service does require a deposit as we pay the Cambodian drivers in advance. If travelling into Cambodia, payment for the balance (after the deposit has been taken) is at the border before you leave Thailand. If coming out from Cambodia, we ask for payment on arrival at your destination in Thailand.

Our comprehensive round-up on travel to and from Cambodia is here.

Please do contact us here for more information or a quotation. Please give your full requirements including route, number of people, date of travel, adults and children, hotel names.
