Getting to Koh Kood has become much easier over the last couple of years but it does still require some forward planning.

The mainland departure point is Laem Sok Pier, located some 30km out from Trat, the nearest provincial town.

Your Options

  • To reach the pier directly, your most stress-free choice is our private transfer direct from your Bangkok hotel or Suvarnabhumi Airport. We co-ordinate the collections with the boat times and can pick-up from plenty of other places too. A SUV car is 4,200bt, a private minibus 5,200bt – travel time 4.5 to 5 hours.
  • Passenger boats (express, catamaran, mini catamaran and speedboat) run by 5 separate companies start at 10.00 (not running 1/6/26 to 30/9/26), 10.40 (not running 1/6/26 to 30/9/26) and 10.45 and finish at 16.00. Prices range from 500bt to 600bt. There are no car ferries.
  • If you fly into Trat Airport on the morning flight, PG301, you can connect to the 10.40 Seudamgo (not running 1/6/26 to 30/9/26) or the 10.45 Boonsiri. When on the  summer timetable, 29/3/26 to 24/10/26, the lunchtime flight, PG305, arrives at 12.40, so you can connect to the 14.30 Seudamgo or the 15.00 Boonsiri. Moving onto the  winter timetable, 25/10/26 to 28/3/27, it lands an hour later at 13.45 so it’s pushed for the 15.00 Boonsiri, more relaxed to use either the 16.00 Seudamgo or Koh Kut Express. The PG307 does not make any boat connections.
  • A cheaper option is the bus/boat combinations at 1,100bt/1,000bt per person, with daily departures from the different boat companies at 05.00, 07.00 and 08.00 from the Khao San Road area. Or you could use public transport from Ekamai Bus Station to Trat City itself – the early morning departures at 05.00 and 07.00 or night bus at 23.30 are the ones to catch.
  • Finally, you can island hop from Koh Chang, Koh Mak and Koh Wai using speedboats, catamaran or the mini-catamarans. Please note only the large catamaran runs in low season (1/6/26 to 30/9/26) and this may change to a speedboat.
  • Once on Koh Kood, the best way to get about is renting a motorbike, 250bt to 350bt per day. Or you could also take an island tour – chat with us about setting one up for you.

Private transfer by car or minibus is perhaps the most comfortable way of getting to Laem Sok Pier for Koh Kood.

Depending on the size of your group, these transfers use an SUV style car (Fortuner, Mu-X, Pajero) or a Toyota Commuter minibus. The vehicles are just for you, no sharing and they travel direct to the pier, with a couple of stops along the way.

Journey time, door to pier, is around 4.5 to 5 hours from a Bangkok hotel or Suvarnabhumi Airport, with prices from 4,200bt for the SUV and 5,200bt for the minibus.

You can book these with with us here. We can supply child seats if needed.

Others routes include to and from Trat Airport (TDX), Don Mueang Airport (DMK), Ban Phe (Koh Samet), Pattaya, Khao Yai, Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi and Hua Hin.

Between Cambodia and Koh Kood

We also supply private transfers to and from the Cambodian borders or cross the border (with a vehicle chnage) all the way between Siem Reap, Sihanoukville or Phnom Penh.  Note, due to the 25/26 conflict between the two countries, the land borders remain closed so these services are suspended until they re-open.

Bangkok Airways currently flies three times daily between Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Trat Airport (TDX). It’s 50 minutes to Laem Sok Pier.

To Trat Airport

From 29/3/26 to 24/10/26 (summer timetable), the morning flight, PG301, lands at 09.15 (09.10 from 25/10/26 to 28/3/27, winter timetable) so you can connect to the 10.40 Seudamgo (not running 1/6/26 to 30/9/26) or the 10.45 Boonsiri.

On the summer timetable (29/3/26 to 24/10/26) , the PG305 lands at 12.40 so  you can connect to the 14.30 Seudamgo or 15.00 Boonsiri. Once on the winter timetable (from 25/10/26 to 28/3/27), Boonsiri’s 15.00 is a bit of a dash and it does not wait if the flight is delayed – use the 16.00 Seudamgo or Koh Kut Express

The afternoon PG307 flight, leaving BKK at 16.15 and arriving at 17.15, is too late to make any boats, so you options are guesthouses and hotels in Trat or by the pier, visit our page here

From Trat Airport

The morning flight, PG302 departing at 09.40/09.45, does not work from Koh Kood as the 1st daily direct boat off the island is at 09.00, docking at 10.00.

When on the summer timetable (29/3/26 to 24/10/26), PG306 departs at 13.10 so use either the 09.00 Boonsiri or the 09.00 Koh Kut Express. Once on the winter timetable  from 25/10/25 to 28/3/27, the flight moves to 14.10 so you can also use the 10.00 Seudamgo (docking at 11.00).

If you are booked on the afternoon flight PG308 at 17.50 (17.45 25/10/26 to 28/3/27), you take the 13.00 Boonsiri or either the 13.00 or 14.00 Koh Kut Express boats (not running 1/6/26 to 30/9/26). There is also the 13.50 Seudamgo docking at 14.50.

In all cases, you can book our private SUV car or minibus to meet you at the pier, cost at 1,500bt or 1,800bt.

Laem Sok to Koh Kood Travel Route

Bus and Minibus – Getting to Koh Kood

Direct Bus and Boat Service

Boonsiri

Boonsiri has its own connecting bus service from Bangkok (Khao San Road area) to its own boat, with departure times at 05.00 for the 10.45 boat and 08.00 for the 15.00 boat, 1,100bt per person all-in, 5 and over adult price, kids 4 and under 500bt.

The returns are with the 09.00, 11.45 (not running 1/6/26 to 30/9/26) or 13.00 boats off the island for the 10.30 or 14.15 bus. It travels via Lad Krabang Airport Link, reaching Khao San around 17.30 or 20.30, timings approximate depending on traffic.

Note Boonsiri’s services may reduce down from 1/6/26 to 30/9/26.

Seudamgo

Seudamgo’s service is at 05.00 for the 12.00 boat from Laem Sok or at 07.00 for the 14.30 boat.  The price is 1,100bt, child policy as above.

The returns are with the 08.30 (via Koh Mak except 1/6/26 to 30/9/26), 12.30 or 13.50 boats for their buses at 10.00 (09.30 if no Koh Mak), 13.30 and 14.50 – same prices as above.

Koh Kut Express

Koh Kut Express’ service leaves Bangkok at 05.00 for the mini catamaran at 11.45 or 07.00 for the slower 14.00 express boat – same prices as above.

The returns are with the 09.00 mini catamaran (via Koh Mak except 1/6/26 to 30/9/26) or the 11.00 express for their buses/minibuses at 10.30 (10.00 if no Koh Mak) and 12.45.

We can organise any of these for you, so please do contact us with your requirements.

Public Services

There is no direct public transport to Laem Sok.

Buses and public microbuses instead instead head for Trat, with daily departures from the eastern bus station at Ekamai and its northern counterpart at Morchit.

Unless you take very early morning transport (05.00 or 07.00) or the night bus (23.30), you will arrive in Trat too late to make any boat connections from Laem Sok, so must stay a night in Trat.

From Trat, you use a songthaew taxi to get to the pier – order it through your guesthouse or walk to the covered market area and charter one yourself.

Motorbike and Car Rental, Private Island Tours

On Koh Kood, there is no public songthaew taxi service such as you see in Koh Chang. Instead, you charter one specifically for your needs and yes, it is expensive – you can organise it via your resort.

Motorbike rental goes at 200bt to 350bt a day, depending on size of motorbike (125cc, 150cc or 160cc), who you rent from and the number of days.

Car rental (sedan) is available from 1,300bt to 1,600bt per day depending on number of days and time of year (peak season or not).

Island Tours

You can also explore Koh Kood on a private tour using a songthaew taxi. Our price is 3,200bt for a 6 hour day (09.30 to 15.30) which takes in areas such as The Ancient Trees, Klong Chao Waterfall, a seafood lunch at Ao Yai fishing village and some of the beaches such as Ao Phrao, Bang Bao and Ao Tapao.

Please do email us on [email protected] for more details on the tour or for car rental.

*All the boat companies (except Kai Bae Huts Speedboat) provide the free transfer between the arrival or departure pier and your resort.*
