Ao Takian, a lovely wild stretch of beach on the south west coast of Koh Kood, now has just one resort down on the sand itself – the 3/4 star Ajinta Resort, formerly Cham’s House. Next door, the old style bungalows of Pa Hin Sai have been abandoned, an economic victim of the pandemic.
Ajinta Resort has accommodation either in rooms in the three storey hotel block at the rear, prices between 3,400bt and 4,700bt or in villas dotted around the garden, 6,750bt for standard, 7,500bt for the pool villa, 9,500bt for the beachfront.
Back up at the main road, a few popular backpacker operations are also available – the excellent Eve House, the reggae inspired Wooden House next door and the small, friendly Kuba . Simple fan rooms with cold shower start from 700bt. Rueng Aroeng has shut down.
Prices given are for peak season (but not the Xmas/New Year period) via booking sites, not the hotel websites. They are intended as guides only.
